A rich balm can feel different depending on where and how much you apply. Follow the specific product's directions and start with a thin layer.
Face
Warm a small amount between clean fingertips before spreading it gently. You can add a little more if needed, but a thick coating is not automatically more comfortable. Avoid the eyes. If you already use several skincare products, introduce one new formula at a time so you can assess its feel.
Hands
Use the amount that spreads comfortably over the areas you want to moisturize. Allow it to settle before handling objects that could become slippery or marked. Reapply according to the product's directions and your preferences rather than adding more simply because a balm feels rich.
Feet
Apply sparingly and take care when walking, especially on smooth flooring. Do not assume a cosmetic moisturizer is a treatment for a foot condition. Ask a healthcare professional about persistent discomfort or concerns that need individual advice.
Choose the formula too
Amount is only one factor. Compare scent, ingredients, and base before choosing a jar. Tallow is animal-derived; choose an explicitly vegan shea butter formula if you prefer a plant-based option. Patch test before wider use and discontinue if irritation occurs.
Use clean hands, keep water out of the container, and close it after application. Store away from excess heat and follow the label's care information.
